CDAC Progressive Challenge #10

I've had this card created for the CDAC Progressive Challenge #10 for over a week now, and kept forgetting to upload it. Yikes!

The theme for the current challenge is "Bringing in the New Year"!

I used this beautiful scenery provided by Firecracker Designs by Pamela. I really LOVE this scene, and can see myself using it for birthdays or maybe a Father's Day card.  Wouldn't this be a great way to welcome the New Year!

Close up of boat to show 3D effect.
Coloring was done with Copic Markers and Distress Inks were applied to the water and sky.

There is still plenty of time to participate in Challenge #10.  You have until January 31st to upload your projects. Head on over to CDAC Progressive Challenge for all the details.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

CFC36 ~ Penguin Suit

Happy Sunday everyone.  Hope you had a marvelous weekend.  I created a couple of cards for the current CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #36 titled "Penguin Suit".  This means create a card with black & white, with absolutely NO other colors.

Before I scrolled down to see what the DT created, I thought that Paper Smooches Vogue Abode stamp set would be perfect for this challenge.  Then I saw that Julie Ranae used the set, so I pulled out another Paper Smooches stamp set called Perpetual Bliss to work with.

Here is card #1

Crystal Stickles & Clear Spica Pen
were used to added sparkle to the light.
Here is card #2

Added some Kaiser Black Rhinestone
for the knobs on the jukebox.
These were fun to create.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used ... Nennah Solar White & Bazzill Raven Cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink & Copic Multi-Liner Pen; Charcoal Twine from The Twinery; Ruler, Martha Stewart Scoring Board, Allegro Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, ATG, and 3D Foam Squares

Thank you cards ...

I saved my package of Thank You cards for last.  The current DeNami Theme Challenge #9 ~ Anything Goes helped me decide what stamps to use for these Thank You cards.
Featuring F129 Teddy Bear & sentiment
from PF26 Assorted Greetings Set

Coordinating envelopes were made.

6 cards boxed in a DeNami Boutique Box

Close-up of the adorable Teddy Bear.
This set of cards is one of three gifts that I am giving my niece at her Baby Shower this weekend.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used ... A Muse Polka Dot Sage, DeNami Green & Neenah Solar White cardstock; Memento Tuxedo Black & Bamboo Leaves Ink, and Copic Markers G12 & G17; Celebrate It Ribbon from Michael's

Who loves you ...

With a sad face that turns into a SMILE, we say goodbye to the challenges at Wee Memories.  Jenny Suchin's life has had some awesome changes in recent months, and she has decided to discontinue her challenges on the Wee Memories Blog.  The last challenge #83 is a Sketch with three (3) awesome sponsors.
I felt this 6-mos Incentive Stamp Set titled "Who Loves You" from Avocado Art was perfect for the last Wee Memories challenge.  Jenny is a big "OWL" fan, and I know she would love this set.

Close-up of the Owl & Sentiment.
Now for the sketch ...

Seriously, Jenny "we all LOVE YOU" and wish you the best in all you do!  I know you are not leaving us just moving in a NEW exciting direction with your designs and illustrations! ;o)

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used ... Bazzill, Neenah Cream, Jillibean Soup Dutch Mustard & Homemade cardstock; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Copic Markers & Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs Distress Ink; DeNami Ribbon; EKS Deco Scallop Punch, 3D Foam Squares & ATG

Lullaby, and good night ...

My sister is out of town and won't be attending the baby shower for our niece this weekend.  She requested a card from the lady in my basement.  LOL! She cracks me up sometimes.  I had my image that I wanted to use colored, and decided to create a card for this weeks CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #34 ~ Highs & Lows. Now my sister loves this card, and I hope you do too. ;o)

Close-up of the baby.
This sweet image is called "Baby Mine" that I got from Pattie's Creations Digital Stamps that was colored with Copic Markers, and then fussy cut out. The sentiment is a rub-on from American Traditional Designs.  The scallops were created with EKS's Arch Scallop Punch.  Of course once I finished the card I found a scallop die I would have preferred using. Sigh!

The inside says "Welcome Baby"! I will sign the card for my sister and deliver her gift on Saturday.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used ... Bazzill & Neenah Solar White cardstock; Celebrate it Ribbon from Michael's; Printer, ATG & 3D Foam Tape

Be You!

I finally felt that my mojo was there for the current Color Challenge over at The Play Date Cafe Challenge #114.  Was hoping to get some new cardstock for the challenge when Katie & I went to Archiver's yesterday. I forgot that when Katie is with me, she loves to pick the colors. Her face lights up when I let her pick the colors, so we came home with various shades of red! The last trip we made in December she chose shades of blue! LOL ... I love that girl!

I pulled out my "Be You!" Unity Ippity Stamp set for today's challenge.  Stamped the image with Watermark Resist ink on burgundy, heat applied white embossing powder, fussy cut it out, and then added the gold around the edges and on the butterfly with a Gold Leafing Pen. The same processed was used for the sentiment.

The splatter on the kraft cardstock was created with Sugar Plum Fairy Glimmer Mist. It doesn't look plum on the kraft, so I added the rhinestone trail behind the butterfly!

Close up of the butterfly in flight.
Fussy cutting and adding the gold to the butterfly was time consuming, but so worth it. I popped some 3D foam squares under the center of the butterfly so that the wings can be folded up while in flight.  The best part is that you could lay the wings flat for easy mailing.

Now for the inspirational photo ...
Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used ... Archiver's Burgundy & Bazzill Kraft cardstock; Inkssentials Watermark Resist, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Stampendous White Embossing Powder & Krylon 18kt. Gold Leafing Pen; Kaiser Rhinestones; Archiver's Static Away, PS Heat Embossing Tool & 3D Foam Squares

Non-traditional Valentine ...

iCopic Weekly Challenge #64 is to create a project using the Blue Copics from the "B" family. If you're a follower/regular here, you know that I love coloring with my Copics. This is the first time I've decided to take the plunge and participate in one of their challenges.  I have this adorable Sassy Studio Design Digital Stamp called "First Snow" that was a "FREEBIE" for the Sassy Studio Designs PCP Fabulous Freebie Friday 01-06-12, and a Challenge.

COPIC Markers used ...
Skin: E21, R01, R00 & R29 for lips
Hair: E30, E11 & E04
Coat/Ear Muffs: B95, B97 & B99
Scarf/Dress: B000, B00 & B02
Boots: B95, B97, B99, B000 & B02
Snow: E0000, BG10 & Colorless Blender

Here is a close up of our Sassy Lady

Inside of card; Sentiment from Avocado Arts
Brrr! & The Nerdy Snow Peeps
I embossed the background with Cuttlebug's Love Language Embossing Folder, added some Memory Box Bianca Snowflakes, and some A Muse Studio Navy Twine.  Since SSD's PCP Challenge is called "Bottle it Up", I added some Crystal & Star Dust Stickles to the snowflakes and pile of snow.

The inside was finished with partial snowflakes, along with the perfect sentiment.

This card will be sneaking into my hubby's luggage when he heads out of town next week.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used: Neenah Solar White & Bazzill cardstock; Memento Paris Dusk Ink & Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink; Printer, ATG, Ultra Thin Glue Dots, Dauber & 3D Foam Squares

Seize the Cupcake ...

Another card for you today. This one is for CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #34 ~ Chip off the Ol' Block.  In November last year I won one of the Moxi Fab prizes from Crate Paper, and one of the items that came in the mail was a full page of Chipboard from Crate Paper's "Random" collection.

Choosing just one chipboard from the "Random" collection was the hardest part. So I went thru my stamps to see what would work best and the sentiment is what tipped the scale.
The cupcake goes perfect with the sentiment from
Wilson Designs Strawberry Lemonade Stamp Set.

Here is a slightly different view.
Until next time ... Enjoy!

Lawnscaping Blog is celebrating their 1-yr Blogaversary, and their current challenge is BIRTHDAY [#25]. So appropriate for this special occasion. They even gave us this awesome Birthday Celebration Digital Stamp created by Melanie Deasy.

I wanted to create a card using the adorable Digital Stamp. I colored the monsters with my Copic Markers last night, and then sat there wondering how I was going to showcase them.  ???  Then this morning as I was waiting for the bus to arrive for Katie the light bulb went off! Here is what I came up with ...
Sentiment from "Critter's in the Forest"

Sentiments are from
Critter's in the Snow & Hats off to You

 Happy Birthday Lawnscaping!

I am also submitting this card for the Wee Memories Challenge #82 ~ Mini. When folded the card is 4" x 4".  ;o)

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used
... Recollections, Bazzill, and Basic Gray "Out of Print" cardstock; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink & Yellow Stickles; Maraschino Twine from The Twinery; Fiskars Scissors & Fingertip Blade, ATG, Glue Dots & 3D Foam Tape

DeNami Valentine Blog Hop ...

Welcome to the first DeNami Design Blog Hop of 2012! This month we have the pleasure of creating Valentine's featuring the adorable DeNami stamps.

You should have arrived from Rochelle's ~ Two Tears in my Bucket Blog. If you just arrived, or get lost along the way, just hop on over to the DeNami Design Blog for a complete listing of all the participants.

Today's Blog Hop gave me the incentive to create Valentine's for my daughter Katie to give to the young men in her Transition Class.  Once again she is the only girl in her class of 8 so "love" is not a sentiment I use for her Valentine's.

I created these mini-Valentine's with DeNami's PF43 Hearts Stamp Set, and the "You're special" sentiment from the PF48 Thoughtful Greetings Stamp Set. Now the sentiments I used in the center of the hearts are from another company, but you could always pick up the DeNami PF42 Love Sentiment Stamp Set to go with these hearts.

Starts on January 8th ~ 6AM PST
Ends on January 9th ~ 11:59PM PST
PRIZES ... three (3) $20.00 Gift Certificates
to DeNami Design's On-Line Store

To qualify for one of those lovely prizes all you need to do is "leave a comment" for each participant along the Blog Hop.

Your next stop on this fine day is ... Suzanne's Sparkling Scrapper Blog.  Thank you for hopping with us!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Be Mine ...

Another Valentine's Day card for you; however, this one is for the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #34 ~ Chip off the Ol' Block.

The Darice Chipboard Heart Tag was covered with some Adhesive Fabric Paper from DCWV. The sentiment and keys are from Unity's "We Treasure You" stamp set.

When I created this card I was thinking "you hold the key to my heart". I will probably put that inside the card and give it to my hubby for Valentine's Day! He truly does hold the key to my heart! ;o)

I don't know if you heard but CAS-ual Friday's is also searching for a GUEST DESIGNER! How COOL would that be! You still have time to create a CAS card using Chipboard for a chance at being a GUEST DESIGNER!

Wish me Luck!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used ...
 - Bazzill Fig Swirl & Neenah Solar White Cardstock; Tim Holtz Bard Door Distress Ink & Versafine Onyx Black; 3D Foam Squares

Your love keeps lifting me!

Hello again! I'm back with my second card for the Wee Memories Challenge #82 ~ Mini.
Size: 3" x 4"
I pulled out my A Muse Studio "Love conquers all" stamp set for this card. I absolutely LOVE the hot air balloon! Being me I separated the sentiment from the hot air balloon; it's a lot easier to separate the image from the text than to try to just ink part of it up. The A Muse Studio "Dies Cloud Duo" look perfect behind the hot air balloon. The Cherry & White Baker's Twine is from A Muse also.

After making this card I decided to create a standard size card for my next A Muse Studio Workshop, which I will be hosting on January 28th.  I just need to make a few changes to this card to make it work. ;o)

All of the Products used for this card can be found at my On-Line Amuse Studio Store ~ Consultant #1416

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other Products used ...
 - Paper:  A Muse Studio Sky & Sugar
 - Ink: A Muse Studio Cranberry

Sisters by Heart ...

Happy Saturday all! I had a fun day crafting a few Valentine's today.  Here is the first of two cards that I created for the Wee Memories Challenge #82 ~ Mini.
Size: 4" x 4"
I pulled out my Unity "Filled w/Love" Dec 2011 Kit of the Month for this card. I inked up the heart with A Muse Studio Cranberry Ink, stamped the main image on the cardbase, a couple extra times on scraps, and fussy cut out the flowers to pop up with Glue Dots & A Muse 3D Foam Tape. I daubed two different colors around the edges of the card, and the final touch was to add some Baby Bling from Want2Scrap.

I hope you will join us on Sunday for the DeNami Valentine's Blog Hop!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

There's a bundle of joy on the way!

When I saw the adorable Pealets Digital stamp provided by Just Some Lines for the CDAC Progressive Challenge #9 I knew immediately what I would create.  My design is perfect for the current challenge over at Wee Memories ~ #81, which is to create a project focusing on the word "New" ~ i.e. New Year, New Baby, New Technique, etc.

I chose "New Baby" because my nephew & his wife are expecting their first child in March.  They already know it's going to be a girl.  My sister told me that they don't want pink, so I chose my colors to compliment their color-scheme.

I have a couple more cards to make before the Baby Shower later this month. I can't wait 'till I finish the other projects I having going on to work on them.

I hope you take the time to join us on Sunday for the DeNami Design Valentine Blog Hop!

Until next time ... Ruza

New Year ... New Clean & Simple Look!

Happy New Year all! Hope each and every one of you have a year full of happiness, healthiness, prosperity, and creative inspiration!

As you can see I changed up my Blog "again".  I decided to go with a Clean & Simple Look. Hoping that this will allow for quicker loading of my Blog Page for all of you. ;o)

So far my years in the Craft World is starting off nicely.  I finally earned the Wee Memories Top Hoot for Challenge #80 for the Altered Tray Christmas Gift that I made for my son Nick & his wife Lauren.

Here is a picture of the finished tray.
And here is my "Top Hoot" badge that I will proudly display in the sidebar of my blog!
