Just a Note to say ...

Any Type of Winged Creature

This weeks QKR Challenge is to create a project with Any type of Winged Creature. My card features the super adorable Parachuting Birdie (digi14805) that I colored with Copic Markers. Since he's flying in the air I actually printed 2 copies to create a 3D effect.

There are so many adorable Winged Creatures over in the QKR Store. How about sharing your creations with us over at the QKR Challenge Blog this week for a chance to win some of your very own!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

You make my day brighter ...

Sassy Studio Designs
Hitting the Beach
(have a bathing suit/swim suit somewhere on your project)

We've had some beautiful, and sometimes crazy, weather here in Northern Illinois, and there are reports of swimsuits being scene at our local beaches. So it seems appropriate that this weeks DTBST Challenge is all about Hitting the Beach.

My card features the lovely USA Honey that was part of the Small World Honey Collection 1. She was colored with Copic Markers, attached to the red, white & blue background I created, and paired with the loving sentiment you can find in the Avocado Arts Future So Bright stamp set.

This card is going into my husbands luggage when he flies out this weekend for his business trip. I always put a little love note inside his luggage when packing his clothes for him.

I look forward to seeing your Hitting the Beach creations this week; remember to share them with us over at the Sassy Studio's Blog!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

You are Nothing but Fluff ...

Good morning! I hope you had a safe & happy Memorial Day Weekend, and took a moment to remember and Honor all of the Servicemen who gave their lives for our Freedom.

I'm over at the Stamp Annie*Thing Blog today sharing my card using the awesome One Cool Cat stamp set.

Isn't he adorable! I used several Distress Inks and daubers to color the Cool Cat by just daubing on the color. It is a little messy so I fussy cut him out, and then paper pieced him and his clothes onto another stamped image. He's a little dirty from playing with all of the yarn that is rolling around the floor. :o)

The background was created with the ball of yarn that comes in the One Cool Cat stamp set.

I hope you are inspired by today's project to head on over to Stamp Annie*Thing Blog to check out all of the amazing stamps we have to offer.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Read All About It ...

If you arrived for the OWH Memorial Day Weekend Blog Hop, please use the link above to go to my post! Thank you for taking the time to HOP with us this weekend! Now to move on to today's post.

(Make a Bookmark or Add a Book to your project)

Our Sponsors this week are Wings & Willows and QKR Stampede

Today's creation is a Bookmark that was inspired by the Follow Your Dreams image from Wings & Willows. The image was colored with various Copic Markers and some Gelly Roll Pens. I've had these White Bookmarks in my stash for quite some time, so I double them up to make it thicker before I applied the Distress Inks to create the sky.

Here's a closer look at the Hot Air Balloon!

This was fun to create, but also very challenging to cut out to apply to my background. Instead of using the clouds that come with the image I pulled out my AMS Cloud Dies for added dimension, and drew in the birds to replace the ones I cut out of the image.

I've scene a couple Hot Air Balloons flying, and every time they were above some trees. So I pulled out my Tim Holtz On the Edge Die, and trimmed it down for my Bookmark.

Here's to hoping that my Bookmark inspires you to make your own, and share your creation with us over at the Love to Create Challenge Blog!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Educational Team Gifts ...

Good evening! Just popping in to share the last of the gifts I've made for Katie's Educational Team. There are three assistant who work very closely with Katie on a daily basis so their gifts are the same.

I always try and have Katie be a part of making the gift(s) when possible. So I recently ordered some SRM Tubes and picked up some Bath Salts, and had Katie fill them up with a funnel and measuring spoon. This was an interesting project last week. Katie had a great time, but gave up after filling 5 of the tubes so I filled the last one.

I wanted a way to package the tubes and a friend gave me instructions on how to make these Test Tube Holders. The instructions called for 1-1/4" punch, but I didn't have one so I improvised by using my Nestabilities Circle Die instead.

I added stickers from SRM's We've Got Your Border - Thanks around the caps to secure the tubes for travelling. Wrapped some Pink Sorbet & Caribbean Twine around the tubes, and tied them into bows. Then I used the left over Border Strips and some additional Border Strips to create gift tags.

I created the instructions, shown below, to add to the bottom portion of the tube holder. The Lavender Flower picture is courtesy of a Google search, and the instructions are from the Bath Salts Packaging.

Final step will be to wrap up the gifts for travelling to school on Tuesday since Katie's last full day of school is Wednesday.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

One of the Boys ...

It's Friday, and the start of a long weekend for many in the US to Celebrate Memorial Day by honoring and thanking our servicemen for all they have done for us.

QKR Stampede Challenge #40
One for the Boys

This weeks challenge is all about the boys so I chose to work with the adorable Ball Hat Boy (digi16602) for today's card.  I colored him with my Copic Markers, cut him out, and layered him on my background based on an old sketch from Stamp with Fun Challenge Blog.

Hop on over to the QKR Stampede Blog and check out the creations by the rest of the QKR Designers, and then share your creations with us this week. Remember, you don't have to use a QKR Stamp to play along.

Until next ... Enjoy!

Celebrate the New Grad

This weeks challenge is all about Celebrating the New Grad! There are several Sassy Graduation Images available in the SSD Store, and I picked Chelsea's Graduation for today cards. Chelsea was colored with my Copic Markers and framed with some new Memory Box Dies I recently purchased. I had some self adhesive ribbon in my stash that said "congratulations", and SRM Black Stitches Stickers which were perfect for the background. The sentiment is from the Future So Bright stamp set by Avocado Arts. Added some bling in the corners to finish off the design.

The design for my card is based on last weeks Tuesday Morning Sketch #198.

If you requested Graduation Sassy for our Monthly Progressive Challenge over in our Sassy Studios PCP Group, then you are all set with an image to create a card for this weeks DTBST Challenge. If you haven't requested the image yet, you still have time, and you can enter your creation to both challenges for a chance to win some Sassy Images!

Good morning & Happy Tuesday. I created a Mini Journal for the Stamp Annie*Thing Blog today, but first I have some awesome news to share. I submitted my Stamp Annie*Thing Masucline Note Cards from last week to The Friday Mashup Challenge #109, and my set was the winning submission! I'm a Rock Star!

I was so honored to receive this badge from The Friday Mashup team.

Now on to the Mini Journal I mentioned above. I still needed to make my DT Project for the Stamp Annie*Thing Blog, and I also needed one more year-end gift for my daughter's bus driver. I knew that when I saw this Tutorial on how to make a Mini Journal over on the Lawn Fawn Blog that it would be a quick and easy gift to make. Er goes my inspiration for what to make for the bus driver.

Mini Journal Closed
The pattern in my design is similar to the one I created for the Simply Sweet Note Cards that I created in early April. The cherry is from the Our Lil' Cupcake stamp set.

Mini Journal Open

Entire cover of Mini Journal

Now I switched up the Design a bit by creating my own DP, and by using a Velcro Tab to close my Journal vs. using twine as in the Tutorial.

This was so easy to create that I think I will be making one for myself to put in my purse. It will be perfect for jotting down notes and ideas as they come to mind.

I hope you are inspired by today's project to head on over to the Stamp Annie*Thing Store to check out all of the amazing stamps we have to offer.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Happy Birthday ...

Good morning! I hope each and every one of you had a marvelous weekend, and your week is full of crafty goodness. I know that school is ending soon for our kids, and this weeks Challenge over at Love to Create is all about kids.

(create a project for the kids)

Our Sponsors this weeks are Di's Downloads2CuteInk,
and there's one more. LTC is providing a Gift Certificate to an on-line store.

I created a CAS card using the adorable Butterfly Bear from 2CuteInk. the Butterfly Bear was colored with my Copic Markers, a White Gelly Roll Pen, and a Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen. The sentiment and butterfly dies are from A Muse Studio. To finish off the design I add some pearls to the center of the butterflies, and added a trail and antenna's with my Clear Star Pen.

There are several little ones that I know who have big birthday's coming, and this adorable Butterfly Bear was perfect for this weeks Challenge. I can also see my daughter giving this card to her grandmother, sister-in-law, or one of her friends. Change out the sentiment, and you will have a marvelous card for your child to give to her teacher. Hmm ... maybe I should have gone that direction! LOL! So many options to choose from.

My design today is based on CAS(E) this Sketch #26.

The rest of the LTC Designers did an amazing job creating projects to inspire. I hope that you will join us, and share your "Something for the Kids" project with us over at The Love to Create Challenge Blog this week.

DeNami Fresh Florals Blog Hop ...

Good morning and welcome to the DeNami Fresh Florals Blog Hop! A group of amazing Designers have gotten together to inspire you with all of the lovely floral images available from DeNami Designs. You should have arrived by way of the very talented Tammy Hobbs . However, if you just arrived or get lost along the way, make sure to hop on over to the DeNami Blog for a complete list of today's participants.

I made a set of four (4) Note Cards as part of a gift for my daughter's Substitute Teacher that she had this past quarter at school. I used the Spring Garden 1 Cling Set and TR16 All Occasion Sentiments.

Now for a closer look at the Note Cards and coordinating envelopes ...

Once all of the flowers and butterflies were colored with my Copic Markers, I used White Opal Liquid Pearls in the centers of the flowers, Platinum Pearl Liquid Pearls for the dots between the flowers, a Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen on the butterflies, and then added twine to coordinate with the cardstock that I attached my design to.

Note: I just realized that I grouped the Note Cards with the wrong envelope when I took my pictures. Oops!

I made a File Folder Notebook to put my Note Cards in.

I used a Decorative DiVoga File Folder that I picked up at Office Max after seeing the tutorial for the Notebook. For the outside of the Notebook I created an oval tag from a scrap that was cut off the file folder, added the letter "W" for Wendy, and then applied White Opal Liquid Pearls around the edges and attached it to the ribbon with twine.

Now for all of the FUN Details about the DeNami Fresh Florals Blog Hop!

The Blog Hop starts today, May 19th at 6:00 AM PST, and you have until
Monday, May 20th at 11:59 PM PST to leave a comment on each of the Designers Blogs.

By leaving a comment for all of the Designers in the Blog Hop you will be qualified to win one (1) of three (3) $20.00 Gift Certificates to the DeNami Designs On-Line Store.

Your next stop in the Blog Hop is the talented Deb Fischer.

Thank you for hopping along with use this month!

For the children ...

Children's Cards and/or a Gift Tag

This week our Designers have created some awesome projects for the children around us.

I created a card to celebrate a little girls birthday using the adorable Girl with a Balloon (digi4901). I went with a pastel color theme, and add a bit of bling to add some dimension to my card. The sentiment will be added to the inside once I make a decision.

My design is based on the Sketch & Stash Challenge #113. My stash that I used today is old and new. We have the White Swirls Pearls from Want2Scrap that I've had for months, and then there's the Striped Pink DP from My Mind's Eye that is a recent purchase. Both of these items were perfect to use with the adorable Girl with a Balloon (digi4901).

I look forward to seeing your creations over at the QKR Stampede Blog!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

I'm here for you ...

Black & White with a Pop of Color

This weeks challenge is one of my favorites. I just love how sleek and elegant the Black & White combination looks when you add a POP of color.  I chose to work with Pink Ribbon Frame for today's card because I truly love this image. After coloring this Sassy Lady with my Copic Markers, I cut out the frame, and popped it on my background that was embossed with my Papetry Ink Linen Impression Plate. I'm truly loving this Impression Plate. Surrounding the frame is a lovely Want2Scrap Nestabling Lacy Oval, and the sentiment is from A Muse Studio's Fight Like a Girl stamp set.

My POP of color is Pink. I used the same colors from her hair to color her pants and the ribbons but it's not looking that way in the picture.

I can't wait to see what color you choose to POP on your creations. Remember to share them with us on the Sassy Studio Blog!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

There's a NEW Monthly Progressive Challenge in town! Where you ask? Over at Paper Craft Planet and it's being hosted by Sassy Studio Designs! YEAH!

What is a Progressive Challenge you ask? It will be a month long challenge with a NEW Theme each month, and a NEW Sassy Studio Designs image to play along with. We will offer your FIRST month's image for FREE, and if you play along and enter our Monthly Challenge then you will be sent the next month's image to play along with.

Your Hostess for our SSD Monthly Progressive Challenges is our Sassy Sister Jackie Randolph.

Sassy Studio Designs PCP Progressive Challenge #1
Theme ... "You Did It, Happy Graduation"

The first FREE Sassy Image in our Monthly Progressive Challenge is called Graduation Sassy!

I colored Graduation Sassy with my Copic Markers, cut her out and layered her on my design that is based on last weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge, Sketch #205. My niece is graduating from High School this year so I created my card based on her school colors, well sort of. Her school colors are Gold & Blue, but I actually used Yellow vs. Gold in my creation.

I'm sure you are wondering how you can get your hands on the lovely Graduation Sassy so you can join our SSD Monthly Progressive Challenge. I'm glad you asked. Head over to our Sassy Studio Designs Group over at PCP, and look for the SSD Progressive Challenge in the Discussion Forum.

You will find out how to:
... get the FREE Graduation Sassy
... how long you have to upload your project
... what the Monthly PRIZE will be
... and what happens if you get the FREE image and life gets in the way, and you don't get to upload a project.

I am truly excited to see the SSD Monthly Progressive Challenge come to our PCP Sassy Group, and I can't wait to see your creations using the lovely Graduation Sassy!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Masculine Note Card set ...

Good morning! It's my Design Team Day over on the Stamp Annie*Thing  Blog and I had several ideas pop into my head about what to create for this week.  Now I saw several different challenges over the past week that inspired me, so I went in that direction.

My daughter, Katie, has one male staff member in her Educational Team at school. I've created Note Card sets for the rest of her Educational Team so it was only appropriate that I make a Masculine Set.

I made 6 cards for the set, with matching envelopes featuring the One Cool Hombre' stamp set from Stamp Annie*Thing. I created my own Design Paper, which was super fun to do with the One Cool Hombre' stamps.

Once the set was complete, I tied it together with AMS Cherry and French Roast Twine ...

and the next step was to put together my packaging. I stamped the border and cactus onto an SRM 4-3/4" x 6-3/4" Glassine Bag, and then tied my tag on with the Cherry and French Roast Twine. I used an SRM Fancy Sticker Sentiments #55004 Thanks for my tag, because the sentiment is so true!

Now for the challenges I mentioned earlier.

Last week was the start of the 350 Cards & Gift Week Challenges over at Moxie Fab World so the Card Set Challenge in the Moxie Fab World was my first inspiration. I made 6 cards vs. the 3 or 4 that was requested.

Now the design of my Note Card set is based on The Friday Mashup Challenge #109. There are two challenges, as always ... create a project using the Sketch they provided, create a set of cards, or Mash It Up and create "a set of cards using the sketch". The Sketch was my inspiration, so I Mashed It Up!

Now I have one more set of Note Cards that I'll be sharing with you this weekend, and then part of the Educational Team Gifts will be complete.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Other products used:  Bazzill cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (for cards), StazOn Jet Black Ink (for the Glassine Bag), 1/8" Score Tape, WR Memory Crop-a-Dile & Red Eyelet, Ruler, ATG.

Love to Create Challenge ...

Good morning! I hope you all had a marvelous weekend! Mine was pretty awesome, but I am thankful for the start of a new week. I received a lot of flowers for Mother's Day, both real and fake, and truly love them all.  Speaking of flowers, this weeks Love to Create Challenge is all about flowers.

(creation a project that include flowers)

Our Sponsors this week are Beccy's Place & Sassy Studio Designs

My first card is very CAS! I felt the lovely Shabby Chic Birdhouse from Beccy's Place was glorious enough all by itself. So after coloring the stamp with my Copic Markers, I cut it out and layered it on my cardstock, and added the sentiment.

My second card that features the sexy Tin Sassy from Sassy Studio Designs The Wizard of Oz Collection! The SRM Sticker sentiment is perfect for Tin who got her heart! My flowers for this one are featured in the Memory Box Embellished Pear Die that I added rhinestones to the center of the flowers.

I look forward to seeing your Floral creations, so please share them with us over at The Love to Create Challenge Blog this week.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Corrosive Challenge ...

Good morning! This post is on the long side, so please bear with me.

First, I want to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all! I also want to share the beautiful gift my daughter, Katie, made for me at school for Mother's Day.

Isn't it gorgeous! The center-piece is an electronic candle. I truly LOVE my gift. Now my son, Nick, bought me a new Garmin. I'm very grateful for this gift since the one I have doesn't work when I need it to. Ugh!

Now to get back to The Corrosive Challenge I have to share with you today.

(create a project that features a sentiment.)

Our Sponsor this fortnight is Graphicat Designs

When I saw this Horse your Heart sentiment over at Graphicat Designs I immediately thought of my daughter-in-law Lauren, and her love for her horse Stryker.  Stryker became ill in April last year. After months of treatment he kept going downhill, and had to be put down last July. So I wanted to make something special for Lauren for Mother's Day. I've had this Library Pocket Book Kit from The Paper Cut for about a year now, and it was perfect to make my gift for Lauren.

I added Stryker's name to the cover of the Book, which I tied up with Black Grosgrain Ribbon that I wove thru a heart Buckle Slider by Paper Studios.

Here are a couple photos from the side.

This is how the Book looks opened.

I used the Papetry Ink Wonderful Words Memories stamp set  for the inside front cover, and hung a Brad Landing Horse Charm with AMS Onyx Twine underneath the sentiment.

This is Stryker eating out of Lauren's hand.

Note: The Library Pockets did not come with windows. I added the windows on half of the pockets with my Nestabilities Die and adhered Graphix Clear Plastic behind the windows.

I also made a CAS card to accompany my gift.

I dropped of my package at my son's house on Thursday because I knew Lauren was heading to Nashville for the weekend with her Equestrian friends. My son, Nick told me to drop off the gift before she left vs. waiting for her return. He said it would give her something awesome to talk about during her "horsey weekend"! That's what he called it. lol

Lauren & Stryker in their Equestrian attire!

Stryker was a gorgeous horse, loved deeply, and is truly missed by all! Lauren loved the album. She sent me a text telling me how Beautiful the album was! Yeah!!!

Thank you for scrolling thru my long post. I hope that I have inspired you to create a project featuring a sentiment, and that you share it with us over on The Corrosive Challenge Blog.

Edited on 05/13/12 to submit my album into The Gift Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Until next time ... Enjoy!
