Happy Birthday Irene ...

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! Yesterday, we celbrated Corinne's Birthday with a Blog Hop. Today a whole bunch of AMAZING, SUPER TALENTED ladies are getting together to share some UNBELIEVABLE projects created in honor of Irene's Birthday! The best part, is that each designer is mailing their projects to Irene so she will be getting lots of mail in the next day or so.

We thought it would be kinda awesome to have a Blog Hop to showcase all of the projects created for Irene. You should have arrived by way of my sweet friend Jackie R. However, if you just arrived, please head over to Simply Betty Stamps Blog for complete listing of all the participants celebrating Irene's Birthday!

The very talented Betty, artist/owner of Simply Betty Stamps, created this lovely image called Irene Birthday Sundae for us designers to create with.

Copic Markers were used to color this beautiful image of Irene; Liquid Pearls and Stickles were used for the ice cream topping.

Your next stop on Irene's Birthday Blog Hop is Karen.

I hope you have an AMAZING Birthday Irene!

I appreciate you stopping by, and hope you have an amazing week ...

2014 Holiday Cards ...

Good evening all. I hope you and your family had a very Merry Christmas, and that Santa was very good to you.

I'm popping in to share some of the holiday cards I made for this year.

First up are a couple of Tiddly Ink Holiday Cards created with the FREE stamps that came with the Quick Cards Magazine.

This next card features the beautiful Little Christmas Angel by Crissy Armstrong. This image was FREE as part of a Holiday Card drive for a sick girl named Addie. I hope and pray she loves the card I made for her.

Since I was running late in getting my holiday cards made I went with all CAS. I mass-produced 30 cards using the CAS-ual Friday's Merry Kiss-mas stamp set along with red Stickles.

The last project are Santa Coffee Cup Gift Card Holders which were made for the staff at Katie's Day Program. I saw a post on Facebook early in the month, and knew I had to make some of these. The tutorial was from the Stamp & Smile Blog. I'm glad I saved the tutorial to my computer since I can't find the link to share it with all of you. :-(

I appreciate your stopping by today, and hope you have a crafty weekend!
Until next time ... Enjoy!

Winter Wonderland and Farewell to LTC ...

Good morning. Today's post is bittersweet as it's my last post as a Designer
for Love to Create Challenges. I have nothing but respect for Jackie, the Owner
of Love to Create Challenges, and all of the Designer's I've had the
pleasure of working with. Many friendships have been made
over the past 2-years, and I've truly enjoyed working with
the images/products provided by the all of the Sponsors.

Now for the details about this weeks challenge.

Love to Create Challenge #146

This weeks Challenge is to "Create a Scene" and our Sponsor
 is ...
Stitchy Bear

I had the privilege of working the Winterville. To create today's card I printed
the image to fill a full 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock, and then colored portions
of the lovely scene with my Copic Marker.

Once done I scanned the colored image and then printed 6 copies,
and made 6 cards by layering the colored image onto cardstock
and adding stickles for the snow.

Make sure you hop on over to the Love to Create Blog for all of the
challenge details, and to be inspired by the amazing projects
created by the rest of the designers made.

I appreciate you stopping by ...

Season's Greetings ...

Good evening again. With the holiday season coming sooner than
later I finally sat down to try and design my holiday cards. I
decided to use some new goodies I recently purchased.

I was inspired to create a Glittered Frame using Scor-Tape and glitter
from the Make It Monday Challenge #191 ~ Glittered Frames.

I tried making the frame a couple times and found that ...

#1 ~ Not all glitters work well with this technique.
#2 ~ I couldn't make a straight line, even with Scor-Tape
if I wanted to. LOL

So ... I used a ruler and pencil, proceeded to create my square
and then applied my Scor-Tape and glitter onto Vintage
Cream cardstock from Papertry Ink, which I layered
on Tropical Teal cardstock.

The colors and focal point was inspired by the current
House of Cards Photo Inspiration Challenge/DT Call.

I pulled out my new Together Die from Penny Black and
sentiment form my stash. This is the only holiday
combination I could find that worked.

I'll probably make about a dozen of these beauties during
the week since I normally create 4-different
designs for my holiday cards.

Masculine Birthday card ...

Good evening. Hope you are having a marvelous weekend.
I have a birthday card to share with you that I made for my daughter
Katie's friend Brian. They've been friends for 18+ years and have
been known to fight like brothers and sisters do.
Today we celebrate Brian's 22nd birthday
so I can share the card now.

I picked up some Strathmore Watercolor note-cards from my local Craft Store
on Small Business Saturday. I don't have any train stamps, which Brian loves,
so I went with a lighthouse. I used a Black PITT Brush from Faber-Castell
on the lighthouse stamp from MFT, and then colored the scenery
with Gelatos and water.

I also stamped the envelope and added color with my Gelatos.

This is very out of the box for me, but I had fun creating this card
for a very special young man.

I appreciate you stopping by ...
Until next time ... Enjoy!

Thank you Paper Crafts ...

It is with sadness that I write this post in honor, and with TONS of LOVE, for
Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine.

If you arrived from the very talented Virginia Lu, then you are in the
right place. However, if you just arrived and would like to start
at the beginning, to see all of the LOVE and memories being shared
today, make sure you head over to Jennifer McGuire's Blog!

Paper Crafts Magazine was one of the first crafting magazines I ever looked at.
I received it for FREE at the Summer CHA in Rosemont, IL 4-years ago.
Attending this event is what inspired me to design and create my own
cards vs. buying them at the store.

I've only been published 1-time in the Paper Crafts Magazine Stamp It Cards Vol. 9,
with this card featuring Avocado Arts Wishes & Kind Thoughts.

The email from Susan came at a time in my life when I was struggling with how
my future looked. I won't go into a lot of details, but I will say that I was
shocked that my card was actually chosen for publication. It was the
3rd time I ever submitted a card, and I shouted with joy and did
a little dance. My husband thought I finally lost it!
Then I told him about the email and he was very
proud of my accomplishment!

The email from Susan gave me a purpose. It made me realize that life,
in general, is what you make of it. It inspired me to continue doing
what I was doing, and keep trying to do the best I can in
whatever I chose to do.

Even though I've never been published again, the email I received lifted my
spirits and in general changed my life for the good. That being said, I  had
to join the group of amazingly talented artists and company's for today's
Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Swan Song Blog Hop!

I created this card to say "Thank You!" to the staff at
Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine for all that
you have done for so many people!

You will sorely be missed by many!

Your next stop today is another very talented artist ...

Sending lots of "Love" to all of the staff at PC&P who have brought so much joy and happiness, along with tons of inspiration to many!

Mistletoe Kisses ...

This weeks Challenge is "Get in Shape"
(Add shapes or a shaped project to your creation)
and our Sponsor
 is ...
Sami Stamps

I had the privilege of working the Mistletoe Kisses stamp by Sami Stamps
for today's project. I colored the lovely image with my Copic Marker. I drew
in the chair rail using a marker and ruler, and then used Faber-Castell Pastel
Pencils to color in the wall and floor shading. The window was created with
part of a Square Grid Cover-Up Die-Namics Die from MFT. I used a
Snowflake Punch from EKS for the sides, and layered the window
on some Snowflake Acetate.

Here is what the card looks like with the Snowflake Acetate lifted.
