Using the colors from the Inspiration Photo for the Challenge I combined three (3) different Great Impressions stamps for today's card. I started with one of the Decorative Frames (K98) that I colored in with my Copic Markers, added the Elegant Butterflies (J119) to each corner, and added the Happy Birthday Sentiment (C340).  Once all of the pieces were put together I then Air Brushed the green and pink on my design, and then added Distress Ink around the edges.

Monogram Stationary ...

Good morning! I'm hosting the Great Impressions Blog today.

I enjoy making personal stationary for friends and family, and decided to make some for myself using the Monogram Flourish "R" (E607). For this set of 3-1/5" x 5" note cards I stamped the monogram with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored it a bit, and then went over the flourish with my Copic 0.3 Multi-Liner Pens. Each Monogram was cut out with one of my dies, and popped onto my airbrushed background with 3D foam squares. These were quick and easy to make.

I picked up some iCraft Gold Deco Foil for another project I'm working on, and decided to make another card featuring the Monogram Flourish "R" (E607). I stamped the monogram with Versamark Ink, embossed it with Clear Embossing powder, and then rubbed the foil over the monogram. Mind you, it sounds easier than it was. I had to use a lot of arm strength to get the foil to adhere to the monogram. I'll have to pick up some gold embossing powder for next time. The stripes were easier to create. I used 1/8" Scor-Tape for the lines, and then rubbed on the foil. I love how elegant this card turned out.

Love ...

Good morning. Last night I finally got out my Copic Markers for a bit of coloring and creating just for FUN! Actually, I had several challenges in mind before I started. So here goes ...

This lovely lady is called Penny in Love from Make it Crafty. As stated above, Copic Markers were my medium for coloring this beauty. I applied some distress ink around Penny to add a little color around her.

Copics: E000, E00, E04, E11 & E21 (skin); E23, E25, E27, E29 & Y21 (hair);
RV00, RV13, RV17 & RV19 (top/flower/hearts);  G00, G14, G17 & G19 (stem);
C3, C2, C1, C00 & 0 (cast shadow)

Once she was colored up I got out my Classic Hearts die to create the window so I could make a shaker card. I've never made a shaker card as I really don't like bulky cards for mailing, so I hopped over to YouTube earlier in the week for ideas/instructions on how to proceed. I saw that you could make "flat" shaker cards and I was like "YEAH". I don't own any sequins so I decided to use red, white and silver very fine glitter for the shaker part of my card. The final step was to adhere my design my my cardbase.

When I bought her I knew that I would be making a card for my darling husband. As I was laying down to sleep last night something was bothering my about my card. It took me a while, but I finally figured it out. I placed the lines in the wrong spot. UGH! It's a good thing that he probably won't notice my oops.

Thinking of You Magical Snowman ...

Good morning! I'm hosting the Great Impressions Blog today.

I fell in love with this adorable Magical Snowman (J114) when I saw him. He is perfect for coloring, paper-piecing, and creating more than just holiday cards. Since I am still working on my last shipment of cards for Operation Write Home, I chose the Playful Thinking of You Sentiment (B195) for today's card.

I used Copic Markers to color our Magical Snowman (J114), and decided to paper-piece his hat and scarf. The light blue surrounding the snowman was airbrushed on. The snow was created with Faber-Castell Whipped Spackle. I've used this once before and truly love how realistic you can get the snow to look.

Canning Jar Labels ...

Good morning. I recently had a request for a Customer Order of Canning Jar Labels from a lovely lady. She has some old canning jars from her grandmother, and plans to use them to store her dried herbs. So here is what I came up with ...

I found a graphic of dried herbs, imported it into a Word documents and created my labels there using the business card label. I then chose my font and started typing up the labels that were requested. I printed the labels on Vintage Cream cardstock, cut them up, rounded the corners, applied Distress Ink around the edges, layered them on Kraft cardstock, punched a whole in the corner, and then added the twine for tying the labels on the jars. I made 25 Tags with the Herb Names provided to me.

I also created 15 blank tags.

Creating the labels in Word was the quickest part of this order. Cutting, distressing, and putting the tags together took about 3-hours.

I appreciate your stopping by today, and enjoy reading your lovely comments! Hope you have an amazing week.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Just Because I Love You So Much ...

Good evening. I played a bit today with some of my new stamps to create a card for the current and last Operation Write Home July-Mid Month Throwdown ~ Love cards with NO Hearts.

I recently got this awesome Guiding Lights stamp set from Papertry Ink, and I absolutely love it. Takes a little getting used to stamping each section of the lighthouse and houses, but it's such a great set for masculine cards. The sentiment is from the Scripted stamp set, which goes perfectly with the challenge.

No coloring was involved for today's card. Just ink and stamps. Very different for me, but I had fun making this CAS card! I made a second card and changed it up just a bit by adding a star background vs. the seagulls.

I used the Guiding Lights stamp set a couple of weeks ago to create cards for OWH. Here are some pictures ...

All of these cards will be going in my final box being sent off to Operation Write Home later this week. Still working on a couple more. :D

Friendship Grows ...

Good morning! I'm hosting the Great Impressions Blog today.

The adorable Friendship Grows (G184) stamp is a lovely image to color and create with. When creating today's card I was thinking of the old-style stationery from my childhood where you folded the paper to create a card.

Copic Markers were used to color the image which I cut out with one of my stitched dies. Once done I layered the colored image on my design. Distress ink was applied around the image to add a bit of sky, and I added a butterfly die and bling to add a little extra to my design. The wings fold down for easy mailing. I used a velcro circle to keep the card closed.

Thank you ...

Good Morning! Today Great Impressions Stamps is sponsoring this weeks C.R.A.F.T. Challenge, and the theme is ... Thank you!

I pulled out the lovely Spring Floral Border (H228S), colored the beautiful scene with my Copic Markers and applied the sky background with my Copic Airbrush System. I used one of my dies to cut out the image, and layered the image on coordinating cardstock that was cut out with the same die.

I used a die from my stash for the sentiment which I cut out 3-times, and layered together to add some dimension.

I absolutely love the beautiful Spring Floral Border (H228S), and look forward to creating more card with it.

If you don't own any Great Impressions Stamps of your own, here is your chance. Hop on over to the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog for all of the details!

You are in my Thoughts ...

Good morning! I'm hosting the Great Impressions Blog today with a bright cheerful Summer card.

The adorable Summer Day (E453) stamp is perfect for paper piecing. I colored the adorable bear and his outfit with my Copic Markers, fussy cut them out and paper-pieced them onto his colorful blanket. I used my Xyron sticker maker to put all of the pieces together. Once complete, I used the Copic Air Brush system to add the grass and sky, and used White Opal Liquid Pearls to the center of each flower.

Since the adorable bear is just laying on the blanket chilling' / thinking I used the Thoughts (B176) sentiment stamp. This card will be going into the last batch of cards I send off to Operation Write Home.

Here's a closer look at the adorable bear ...

Great Impressions July Challenge ...

Good morning! Today is my first official post for the Great Impressions Design Team. Since it's the first Sunday of the month that means it's time for a NEW Challenge.

The July Challenge is to "Use your Fave Stamp". Even though I'm a NEW Designer I absolutely "LOVE" the Great Impressions Stamps I chose to work with for my first Challenge!

Allow me to introduce you to the adorable Birthday Friends (G505) and the Happy Birthday Sentiment (C340).

Since I knew that I would be paper-piecing with the adorable Birthday Friends, I stamped the image 6-times. Pulled out my Copic Markers and started coloring, cutting, and paper-piecing the image together. I stamped the Happy Birthday Sentiment 3-times under the image since there are 3-adorable Birthday Friends.

Since today's card is for my son's birthday, I wrote "29" in the center of the top balloon and added dots to the other balloons with a White Gelly Roll Pen. Once I had the card put together, Glossy Accents was applied to each of the balloons.

Now for a look at the PRIZE you can win for joining us this month.

Make sure you head on over to the Great Impressions Challenge Blog to see what the other Designer's created, and for all of the details on how you can WIN this lovely collection of Great Impressions Stamps! If you use our Great Impressions Stamps remember to link them up in our Customer Gallery.

This week's Release is all about Birds and Beauties ...

This lovely is called My Birdie! She is so pretty and was a blast to color with my Copic Markers. I printed 2-copies of the image, colored the one and fussy cut her out. Then used my Nestabilities Dies to cut out the second one, applied some distress ink for the grass and sky, and then layered my colored image on top.  Once I added the framed beauty to my design something else was needed, so I added some SRM stickers to the flags.

Here's a closer look at My Birdie ...
