Thanks a Latte ...

Good evening! Just popping in to share a card I created for the SugarPea Designs SugarSketch #44 (shown below) using some of my new stamps and dies.

Please excuse the watermark. I used the wrong one.

Using the SugarPea Espresso Yourself stamp set I created my own design paper for today's card. I inked up the "happiness is good ..." sentiment, and the "COFFEE, ESPRESSO, and coffee beans" with Memento Rich Cocoa, and made 2-panels. Once the panels were cut and layered over Neenah Classic Crest White cardstock, I used a sponge dauber to apply the Rich Cocoa ink around the edges, and layered it onto Moroccan Cocoa cardstock

I then made my Coffee Cup using the SugarCuts Coffee To Go Cup using the same cardstock, and scrap for the whipped topping. I sponged the Rich Cocoa ink on the white pieces, and layered it all together. I created a flag, added the sentiment, and popped everything on my design with 3D Foam Squares. To finish it off I added Enamel Dots from Studio Calico.

Savored and Treasured ...

Good morning! I went with classic black and white for today's card to showcase the Savored & Treasured Sentiment from Great Impressions Stamps.

Using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink I stamped the Savored & Treasured Sentiment on CutCardStock Basis White cardstock, then layered it onto CutCardstock Royal Sundance Linen Eclipse Black cardstock to create my focal point. Using the same cardstock I created the background, layered it onto my black cardstock, and  used 3D Foam Tape to add my sentiment panel. Once this was complete I added the Black Enamel Dots. I also finished the inside of the card with the same background I created for the cover.

This sentiment is absolutely spot on, and I wanted to show it's elegance with a clean and simple design.

My design was inspired by the Atlantic Heart Sketch #153 (shown below).

Jelly Bean Time ...

Good morning! Today I'm sharing an Easter card featuring Jelly Bean TimeBorder of Jelly Beans, and Life is Sweeter Sentiment, available at the Great Impressions Stamps.

I stamped the adorable Jelly Bean Time on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Since I stamped the image a week before coloring, I water-colored the image using my Marvy Markers. After cutting the image down to size, layering it onto some design paper and then to my panel, I added the Life is Sweeter Sentiment, which I split up, above and below the image. I then applied Glossy Accents to the jar of Jelly Beans, and added some bling to the flowers and each corner.

It's so much fun making coordinating envelopes for my cards and the Border of Jelly Beans is a perfect match for today's card.

Don't you just love this Jelly Bean Time stamp? I know I do!

Happy Everything ...

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a a Spring card featuring H228 Spring Floral Border and B246 Happy Everything Sentiment, available at the Great Impressions Stamps.

I stamped the lovely Spring Floral Border on CutCardStock Basis White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Since I stamped the image a week before coloring, I decided to watercolor the image with my Marvy Markers. Once it was dry I cut the image out with my pierced rectangle die.

Using a diagonal stitched die I cut the background with CutCardStock Pink Basis cardstock, and then cut some scrap design paper to go along the left side. Since my design didn't allow for the  Happy Everything Sentiment to be together, I cut the stamp in half, and put half of the sentiment above the image and half below the image.

Next I added my background to my cardbase, adhered the Spring Floral Border image with 3D Foam Tape, then added a butterfly in the right hand corner with pearls in the center.

I'm happy to say that I love how my water coloring turned out since I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp the image. The only smudge was caused when I put the sky in near the bottom of the image.

Hello Friend ...

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a friendship card featuring F605 Rainy Day Harry and B152 Hello Friend, available at the Great Impressions Stamps. My card was inspired by several different challenges.

I stamped the adorable Rainy Day Harry with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, cut him out with my circle Nestabilities die and colored him up with my Copic Markers. I stamped an extra copy and colored only the umbrella, fussy cut it out, and used 3D tape to pop it up. A White Gelly Roll pen was used to add the dots to Harry's raincoat and boots to match my design paper.

Once my card was put together I applied Glossy Accents to the raindrops in the image, then I added more raindrops sporadically on the umbrella and the green flag. Using StazOn Black Ink I stamped the sentiment on Clear Cardstock, cut it to size, and used Glossy Accents to layer it over my colored image. Final step was to add the green enamel dots to my design.

Some Bunny Loves You! ...

Good morning! We have a new Challenge starting today over at the Great Impressions BlogThis month our challenge is called "Bunny Hop". With the clocks Springing Forward next week, Easter and Spring is right around the corner so we would love to see the projects you create around this theme.

For myself, I created an Easter card featuring two of our newest stamps ... Bunny with Eggs (J124) and Bunny Loves You (D518). This month's release has so many awesome stamps that are perfect for all of those Easter projects you need to make.

I started out by stamping Bunny with Eggs (J124) with Black Ranger Archival Ink on Strathmore Watercolor Paper. I then applied my Marvy LePlume II Markers onto a pallet, using water and my paint brush I pulled the colors from the pallet and colored my image. Once my image dried I scored 3 lines underneath the bunny, added the Bunny Loves You (D518) with Black Ranger Archival Ink and applied the same green I used for the grass under and around the sentiment. Dimensional tape was used to layer my panel onto Vintage Cream cardstock from Papertry Ink.

I'm still experimenting with water coloring my images this way.  It is a new way of coloring my images, and I'm really having fun with this medium.

This lovely card will be going to my grandson.

Make sure you head on over to the Great Impressions Challenge Blog to see what the other Designer's created, and for all of the details on how you can WIN this lovely collection of Great Impressions Stamps! If you use our Great Impressions Stamps remember to link them up in our Customer Gallery.

Hello Friend ...

Good morning! I'm over on the GI Blog today sharing a friendship card featuring my H267 Potted Flowers and B152 Hello Friend, available at the Great Impressions Stamps.

I stamped the Potted Flowers on Strathmore Watercolor Paper using Marvy Le Plume II Markers as my ink. I proceeded to apply water to draw out the colors, and added more. Once done I used my pierced dies to cut the image out, along with some stitched dies for the background.

I love this stamp and had a blast coloring this image in with my watercolor markers.

Using StazOn Black Ink I stamped the sentiment on Clear Cardstock, cut it out with my punch, and used the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to layer it over my colored image.

Final step was to use 3D Foam Tape to add my panel to the background design. I love how the softness of my panel pops against the background.

Springtime Silhouette ...

Good morning! It's the first of the month, and that means it's time for a New Challenge over at the House of CardsThis month's Challenge is a Word Cue  ... Silhouette.

We would love to see your creations featuring Silhouette's.

I pulled out an old stamp set that I've had for several years, and I really love it.
Today's card features the Sunny Side of Life stamp set from A Muse Studio. It's retired, but this is one stamp set I will never sell and/or give away.

I've used this stamp with color in the past, but really love how dramatic it looks in black and white. I stamped the images and sentiment with Ranger Black Archival Ink and then added some dots with a Black Marvy Marker (#1). I also stamped the butterflies going up the side on the inside.

Make sure you hop on over to the House of Cards Challenge Blog for all of the details for entering our Monthly Challenge. I can't wait to see what inspires you this month!
